    ABOUT ME:

I am 37 years old and have been married for 12 year with two Beautiful Boys in toe.   ELM represents the first letter in my name, my husbands name and our last name but it also stands for Early Learning Methods.

I am often asked why I do Family Day Care and those who know me well, can see "it's my passion."    I have always found deep satisfaction from interacting with children, and basically I love to PLAY.

I believe children learn through interaction with others; that Parents, Grandparents, Friends and Carers, give children the security to explore experiences and develop new skills by offering positive opportunities through varied forms of PLAY.

For the Past 7 years Family Day Care has afforded me my Dream Career, allowing me the opportunity to help children celebrate the wonder and fun of the world around them; from their own immediate world, the world outside their homes and into the wider world in which they are living and growing up in.

I currently hold my Diploma in children's Services, work 4 days a week as a Carer just like you and 1 day a week for my Scheme supporting Carers with their planning, so I am out and about learning from my peers too.

    Planning for our Future,

    Leah
